I notice that in the manual the Era 1981 to 1996 is shown.
I’m hoping that this means that a new Doncaster North simulation with numerous coal mines open will be available whenever.
If so, it would probably be awesome. 😊

The Era is available already, check the startup options and you can open it up.

At present there isn't a Timetable, and I suspect the oldest possible Timetable we could reasonably see would be 1991 (to match York and West Yorks). Coal traffic is all worked to a weekly coal plan which changes week on week and was issued as a circular. Finding a copy is like Rocking horse deposits. Pascal has a 1991 Aire Valley plan which was used for West Yorks, and 0D07 had a 1999 Plan for his timetable which is how they've been done.

The closest thing I have is a set of Doncaster/Sheffield/Barrow Hill Trip notices for 1980, however these only give the hours of operation for the MGR trips, not their booked daily workings which would be needed.

If a timetable was done without these trains, it would effectively be half a job, especially when Doncaster station appears, as Down Decoy Yard was pretty much dedicated to MGR traffic 24/7.

That said, I would look forward to the 1991 timetable more, as Selby New Mine was open and produced much more product (and trains) than a lot of the older collieries on Doncaster's patch combined, like Yorkshire Main and Brodsworth. In 1991 you would also have Thorpe Marsh Power Station still being supplied daily.

The more trains, the better, as we know

Joe is correct in what he says & yes I am doing a set of chainable summer 1991 TTs for Doncs(South), Doncs(station), Doncs(North). These in turn will also chain to my York north/south & West Yorkshire summer 1991 TTs. Also I'll be doing a Tyneside summer 1991 TT to chain to York north/south. The MGR traffic at this time was very extensive. Yes I did use a 1991 MGR coal plan, but by the very fact that they changed every week subject to the amount of coal the collieries produced & the tonnages required by the various power stations to produce the electricity required by the CEGB. I've recently got drivers diagrams for Barrow Hill, Shirebrook & Worksop depots for 1991 too which will increase the number of trains in these timetables by a significant amount. Just like my 1991 West Yorks TT the freight traffic will overtake the number of passenger trains by a significant margin. I have thought about doing a 1980s era TT for these sims, but due to sim restrictions on Tyneside IECC & York north/south it's very doubtful that they could be done. Don't be too sad about it being a 1991 TT Bugsy, cos you'll certainly have your work cut out with this one. I could do a mid to late 198s TT for the Doncaster sims, but they won't include York north/south or Tyneside IECC. The 1991 TT will be done first.

I’ll not be too sad as a 1991 timetable would be just fine.
My favourite sim at the moment is your West Yorkshire 1991 timetable with crossings on. Keeps you on your toes and quite often I forget to raise one or other of two barriers between Pontefract and Castleford because I’m busy elsewhere. And with delays and failures up a bit it makes things very interesting.

I’m looking forward your 1991 Doncaster North tt regardless of the number of freights (although the more the merrier) and also to your 1991 Tyneside tt
Keep up the good work 😊

Well I'd imagine you'd peobably be waiting until 2023 for the Tyneside one to be written, tested & then released. My next TT will be Cardiff summer 1988 which is still under going testing atm. There's plenty of freight traffic in that one & over 500 trains more in that TT than in West Yorkshire 1991 TT. If I play one of my Tts I don't tend to have the barriers on, as like you say gets too distracting on occasions I like to keep it as simple as possible. I have played James(0D07) Winter 1999 TT as it brought back memories for me as at that time I was one of the loco controllers covering the Yorkshire/Humberside & East Midlands power desk & it brought back some memories. & yes like you I noticed the Arksey Loop TD with 6S31, although if that Tt was chained to a winter 1999 TT for Doncaster station then I suspect that that issue wouldn't occur. Funny thing for me these days is that I much prefer writing timetables than actually playing them. I leave all that these days to users like yourself to battle your way through it.

Is that a typo? Did you mean to say over 50 trains more?

No sorry that's not a typo. Atm there are approx. 1483 trains in the TT, but there's still stuff to add to it once the sim has been updated to run the TT. West Yorks IIRC has around 970 trains in it, but Cardiff 1988 will have over 1500. Don't worry they don't all run at once & as I have a full copy of the BR Western Region loco diagrams for the summer of 1988 they were used to construct the TT along with other official info I own. So not a typo & the 4 or 5 SimSig users who are doing the testing have all coped well testing it, so you be ok with it. The Cardiff TT is the biggest one I've written so far in the number of trains on a single sim.

Wow. That Cardiff 1991 timetable sounds like quite a challenge.
I'll have to have a look at Cardiff PSB with a view to adding it to my list of sims to buy which, at the moment has 12 sims on it.

Thanks for the info.

It's not a 1991 TT, it's a summer 1988 TT.
