First, thank you for the absolutely incredible sim. Long waited, much enjoyed.

This is more of a 'real life' question. The amount of time that passes between a train entering at Beeston castle/the green text saying Beeston to Steel Works has been requested and the train drawing up at the peg BC2 is about 11 seconds. That seems very short. Is this prototypical? I very rarely manage to get there in time.

I just had a request come in at 14.43:50 and by 14.44:01 I get the message that the same train is waiting at BC2. The Steel Works signalman must have cat-like reflexes.

In real life, Beeston will ask "Is Line Clear?" when they receive the train description from Chester PSB and the TD annunciator sounds; or as soon as the block is back at normal if there's a train already in section or some other reason they can't offer on, which if I remember correctly is when the description steps into Chesters berth for 26 signal (It might actually be 28 and Beeston have to ignore any TDs not relevant to them).

This gives us a bit of a quandary in SimSig, we'd then need to extend the simulation all the way back to Chester with the complexities that brings both simulation and timetable wise, we ruled that out early on in the development. Or we need a way to ask for the "Is Line Clear?" earlier by some other means which is consistent, and unfortunately we've not cracked that yet, we tried an implementation on Penzance but it wasn't successful.

It's not limited to Crewe you'll notice it on other simulations with AB at the fringes, though it's a bit exaggerated on Crewe by how hectic the sim is. We're continuing to have some discussions amongst the developers on how we could make it better.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer
