On the 7th February this year I reported this problem (post #150409) to which I had this response form HAP: “TT developer will require to edit the TT and ensure that 'through line stop' is ticked for Hatfield and Stainforth, as well as the 'set down' (if Req) for trains to take the SL without challenging.” I’m playing the timetable again and as you can see, have encountered the same problem. So, I’ve just edited the timetable (as HAP explained, although ‘set down’ was already ticked) and have had no problems now. The Timetable author was 0D07. Is this person inactive now? If not, is it possible to edit the original timetable at the very start and save it so that when I play it next time all will go ok? Note that the original thread has been locked, hence this new one. You can do whatever you like with a TT then save it. You can't publish it for others to use without the consent of the original writer as you would be infringing on their copyright but nothing to stop you making whatever edits you want for personal use and then saving (although it would probably make sense to save under a different name in case you make a pigs ear of things and want to revert to the original). If you do save under a different name it is good practice to edit the Timetable Name box on the front tab of the TT before you save it. When you save and re-load the core code makes that change for you but there are some circumstances (can't remember exactly what they are) where you are asked to pick a TT and the choices list the Timetable Name settings which gives you duplicated names if you haven't previously edited the box.

No I am not in active and currently working on another project whilst balancing work with home life and this as a hobby. Your post was seen and the master file has been updated and when the next project is ready to go live this will be sent at the same time as the next project for moderator approval. In the meantime as "Postal" said you can if you like edit it yourself so 6M07 dunt call a wrong route at Thorne Jn. Or be patient and and wait till next update is submitted. Thank you both for your replies. I have edited the timetable of 6M07 but that was on a re-run after I received the original 'wrong route' call. Can you advise if it's possible to edit the timetable when the sim is first started at midnight please. Thanks. Bugsy Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Yes you can do the edit as soon as you begin.

bugsy in post 152398 said:Thank you both for your replies. If you've edited the TT already just save the TT as is with a new name and then next time you run it from scratch you will be able to open with a TT with the edit already done. If you have finished the run already go back to a saved game after you edited the TT and save the TT under a new name from there. Caveat: when you start a sim, you choose a TT and that is loaded into the core code. If you then edit the TT but don't save it, the edited TT is still held in the sim data but not in the TT on your hard disk. So suppose you started the sim with TT XYZ and then edited the TT in sim. If you haven't saved it then re-load the saved game TT XYZ in the sim is different to TT XYZ on your hard disk. TT XYZ in the sim is not saved anywhere except in the game data. You need to take extreme care when editing on the fly in the sim about what you save and when as it is very easy to get things out of sync and either over-write the TT on your hard disk with an edit you only made to get out of a problem in sim or you lose the changes which may be actually required to get rid of a problem in the original TT. That is why it is always safest to save the TT from within the sim using a different name to the original loaded TT's name as soon as you have made an edit so that you don't get mixed up between the various versions. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 17/07/2023 at 17:03 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply |
