I have a track circuit failure to the left of Royston. I have train 6E55 wanting to get into the Down Loop. Please see attached screenshot. I was planning on crossing 6E55 at those points just in front of it and then down into the loop (K986 - K982 - K978 - K244). However, it won't let me set K986 - K982 because "Point(s) locked normal by another route". I've tried setting routes over some of the other crossing points, but can't seem to find anything that will set (that's helpful). Am I missing something? Is there anything I can do with 6E55 before that track circuit failure is fixed? Or is that line now just blocked and everything heading left to stuck for the time being? Post has attachments. In real life you could do a release of signalling controls, but that's very unlikely as has been discussed on these forums a few times. You could also get the points moved on the ground. That is more likely to be done, but depends on staff with the required competencies being on site. SimSig allows you to replicate that trivially easily, perhaps a bit too easily and you might want to wait to simulate staff getting to site, doing the forms, etc. but in the incident control panel (F11) in the points tab you can hand crank the points to the required position. You could however potentially work around this. It's possible it could simply be sent further on towards King's Cross to run round. You could even sort that in SimSig if you started delving into editing the timetables. If there's enough room in the Down/Grain Siding you could potentially route it in there (not a signalled move) and propel back out if you had a shunter (no real need to worry about that in SimSig) or you could signal it onto the Up Line behind K245 and (again if you had a shunter, but SimSig won't care) potentially propel from there to the Down Loop. The train's timetable shows that it is booked to reverse at 977/245 signal before being booked to propel into to Down Loop. The reverse can take place at either of these signals. 977 can't be accessed without going through the TCF, but 245 is the shunt signal on the up line adjacent to the up sidings and the train should reverse there as booked Log in to reply The following user said thank you: p72endragon |

Would anyone know if it is possible to find out a point number? I have a similar issue at Liv St so looking to do the same.

Given you've got a passenger train right behind, the timetable writer expects the train to be sent through platform 2 to 977. But given the failure, it makes perfect sense to reverse at 245 instead. (This is partly why it's a single location: so that signallers can choose the track to reverse on to meet traffic requirements. For example, a train might normally be booked to reverse on the Up at 245, but if the Down is clear and there's something coming up fast behind you, the signaller can reverse it on the Down without having to mess with the timetable.)
