I have a route set from K977, but the signal won't clear and eventually 1C37 rings up. If I cancel the route and set it again immediately, the signal clears. I think I've seen similar with a signal on the other line as well, and I've a feeling it's somehow related to the sequence of events with me setting the route quickly after a preceding train. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

Hard to tell from a picture alone rather than a saved game, but I believe you have set a call-on route. If a preceding train is still (even partly) within the station, and you set the route over it, the interlocking automatically selects a call-on route instead of a main route. The conditions for a call-on route to show proceed are that one or more platform tracks are occupied, which they no longer are. One odd thing reproducing it though is that there is an overlap. Normally you wouldn't have an overlap with a call-on route because the protection is typically a large lump of metal (ie a train) preventing any SPADs. Are you able to provide a .ssg (save), just to allow us to look into any possible issues that isn't obvious to the naked eye by looking at the snapshot. Ta Craig How to report an issue: www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:reportanissue Log in to reply |

Did you have a TCF on the Down line beyond K997 and also set the route from K997 to K981?

Hmm...the only TCF at this time was that one on the Up line at Meldreth station. There had been a TCF earlier somewhere around K977 if I remember correctly, but I can't be sure without going back through the save files

The calling-on route is set but, as Geoff points out, the overlap is set as well. You could, I think, cause this by setting a main route from K977, occupying an intermediate track circuit (e.g. by a TCF), cancelling the route, then stroking it again, then clear the occupied TC. The first half of the route is the call-on route caused by the re-stroke; the second half and the overlap is the original main route. Unfortunately the saved information doesn't tell me that level of detail. The last failure in the Royston area was cleared over an hour earlier. I can't figure out an exact process that would cause this state. Log in to reply |

Oversetting maybe? Possibly under specific circumstances.
