Please could I ask, in the interest of planning, if there are any plans for grub, etc. after the meet?

There are plans yes, we're just in the process of trying to track down a venue which can accommodate the number of people who have stated intentions to attend the after event meal. Which is about 25!

If you book through Accor you can get the IBIS at the Airport for £89 for 1 night. Yes you have to become an Accor member but don't cost anything for the membership.

I debated getting up by train but even with a split ticket it was going to come to around £90 on the ticketing app I have so I will be driving it: the fuel will cost less than the train ticket so I will put my car at a Metrolink P&R, probably East Didsbury, and get the tram from there to Victoria.

Doing that also gives me the freedom to stay for the post-meet meal afterwards if there is one and then I can go back to ED on the tram and get home.

A couple of things as we move closer to the meet on Saturday.

1) Can people who are bringing a laptop for public use ensure they have the latest version of the loader (5.27) which was released tonight, this will speed things along on the day to get going.

I will issue licenses to people who have indicated they are bringing a laptop for public use on Thursday or Friday evening. If you could lock these to your machines ahead of the meet that will again speed things along on the day (Though I can sort out locking them on the day if need be)

2) A small group of us will be in Manchester on the Friday evening and will more than likely partake in some liquid refreshment in the vicinity of Manchester Victoria station. If anyone would like to join us drop me and PM and we can exchange mobile numbers so I can direct you on the evening to where we are.

Hi Karl,

Is it worth locking the licences for the other sims in the chain, if so would you let us know either here or privately?

Thanks
Jamie

Yes it would be worth locking Doncaster North and Doncaster South licenses should you have them.

Hi guys. I have received word that a childhood friend of mine has died. I am not able to travel to the Netherlands for the funeral; however, the church service is being streamed online and will take place at 12:00 on Saturday, which means I'll miss the start of the meet.

I'll try to find a place in the hotel where I can sit with a laptop, where it would be nice if you would not disturb me.

EDIT: I have two laptops with me, so I will hand my "SimSig" laptop to one of you if I see you before 12:00.

We are well underway at the meet, with a chain of the three Doncaster sims, two standalone Doncaster Station sims, and two standalone Basingstoke sims.

More as the day goes on.

We've got another Basingstoke running now standalone.

The new lineup feature is in use around the room, proving useful with the regulation decisions around Doncaster.

A first look at Basingstoke for people who are not at the meet. S&T currently have a line blockage just outside Basingstoke to deal with a track circuit showing occupied when clear.

Is Meld acting as SSM there?

Thank you as that was one simulation that wasn't expected, would I be right in thinking that the chaining simulations would be just Woking and Salisbury at this time?

Looking forward to seeing shared pics of Doncaster station too

Hi everyone,

I wasn’t able to come earlier due to prior commitments, but I am very local to the area. Would I still be able to come/is it worth coming?

I can be there in approximately 15 mins.

Thanks

That's what I thought, looks to be a decent sized sim. Thanks again for sharing details.
