Just a thought but in the Misc tab, would it be at all possible for a new field to be created where timetable writers if they have the information can enter the TOPS details for the loco or multiple unit used instead of using the Notes function.

I've seen timetables here where timetable writers with the information use the Notes function whilst other timetables from elsewhere have a fully functional part of the timetable that you use that uses a built in database and you select whatever loco or MU you need.

I'm not saying SimSig ought to spend time on such a database but merely see if it's possible for a simple text box you fill in manually or a function where you click on a button and you manually enter the TOPS number where the timetable writer can manually type in whatever TOPs number he or she needs instead of cluttering up the description or notes text boxes.

If the button explained above is the best option than it could easily be placed next to where we have the Destination arrival field as a button wouldn't take up much space.

If tools such as the Misc tab, Line Ups, Customised Simplifiers etc are possible than shouldn't this request be possible?

Not a bad shout. I particularly like JAMS timetables where the unit numbers are included where available.

A lot depends on the era being represented. As I have found recently especially with older era TT's 1970's for example, that there is only so much you can find on t'internet. The rest is either in books or someone with knowledge of that time
