I'm probably the only person who doesn't know the answer to this question. What does Signal No.1 do in the Up Decoy Yard? ..... Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. Log in to reply |

It authorises a train to depart either Roads 1/4 past the stop board, or for a train to depart the Cripple Siding, or Railport. For example when a train enters at Railport you first switch points RP to reverse, then click the RP box, it'll turn green to confirm a proceed authority will be given to the entering train. The train will then move up to the shunt signal underneath the word RAILPORT on the main diagram and can be signalled as normal into the shunt neck, onto the east slow line or onto the flyover, depending on what it needs to do next. Always make sure the points are correctly set for every move, before you authorise the move to begin. I have a train in UP SDG 3 which needs to go tp Potteric Carr Jn. The points X and Z are set and I presume that signal N0.3 has to be cleared. But do I need to clear signal No.1 to get the train moving and then signal No.3 or have I got this completely wrong? Up until now, I have instructed the train to pass the stop board and that's about it 😐 Update: No. All that's obviously wrong because I cleared signal No. 3 and the train departed. And your answer is only more confusing. Signal no.1 is only for the stop board at road no.1 (same for signal 2 - 4 are for roads 2 - 4). Also Railport (RP) has it's own signal (RP), and the cripple siding (CR) has its own signal (CR). tl;dr - Signal 1 acts as a handsignal for the stopboard at road 1, just as signal 2 is for Road 2 etc. Log in to reply The following users said thank you: sunocske, KCRCRailway |
