I am wondering, does something exist in the signalling world that are some kind of equivalent of "Flight progress strip" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_progress_strip)? Something used to track where trains goes at a glance? I've started to make myself a small tracker with stickies in the sim, though I was thinking having something physical would be amazing. I'm not too sure about what to look for though, maybe some kind of board to put in sets of bounded letter tiles or something. Or I could go with actual paper slips, but that feels a bit too flimsy. In SimSig you've got the popup timetable when you click on a headcode. That's really the most at a glance option. There is also the lineup tool which you can have minimised in the background which will give you the next arrivals/deps/passes for z given location along with their platform and path used. This is probably the closest you'll get. In real life TRUST gives the same information to a signaller, but for large stations and/or junctions the boxes often produce a simplifier which gives the info in a table along with additional useful notes for immediate reference. There's no such thing as strips or similar to my knowledge, apart from reminders placed on sidings as go what's in them when there is no describer. Which Simsig also has its own interpretation of (press F8), if you haven't already stumbled across it. If you have two monitors or more than you can extend the view across these monitors I have four monitors so use the first monitor to view the timetable When on one monitor the alternative is to setup the timeable and then maximize / minimize as and when required DELETED Log in to reply |

Yeah multi-monitor is the best. I'm also playing on the go on one laptop screen (good resolution), and it definitely not work as well. So I'm trialling portable and compact solutions. Log in to reply |
