Press A on the keyboard and that will bring up the latest call.

You seem to have a lot of trains waiting on red signals on that save game too. Were you paused and trying to answer the phone? I like the challenge to try and clear the calls by signalling them. :-) 20 years of Simsigging Log in to reply |

A few more details on what you've done and what (doesn't) happen would be useful. At a guess, perhaps your Answer Call window is somehow stuck behind another window, or is off-screen (even 1 pixel off the edge). Restarting SimSig should fix that.

uncheck "stay at top" from the main window. Often marked by accident during route release when the user misses the signal

This occured to myself and several other users in mplay sessions, the phone call window was visible, clicking on answer call resulted in no response/action from the server (it was relatively infrequent and so unable to identify a potential cause/scenario}. As it was a client issue, fix was simply to restart the client simulation and normal service was resumed. Never encountered the issue in a standalone though. Also I've not encountered this more recently, so could well have been (coincidentally) cured by core code changes/updates. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. I am more than sure that he accidentally checked "stay at top" at main window , which is why all other popups windows e.g. timetable , phone calls are shown under

I had the same issue a little while ago. Although the telephone window was open, none of the calls would be answered when I clicked on them. My solution, whether right or wrong, was to just restart the sim from the last saved game and all was well again. Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate. I think it may be the case that at one point you may have click minimize on the 'Answer call' window, this can result on Microsoft Windows (this happens to me on Windows 11) the window being open but hidden, so as an answer call window is open you are then unable to answer another call. Geoff, I had saved the SIM before posting the problem. Having read your post a couple of days later, I was able to restart the SIM and the phones were able to be answered. Thank you. Log in to reply |

General tip for this kind of situation, where there's some popup window you can't access: - Alt-tab to the application, or away from the application and back again. This usually puts the popup window (i.e. the phone call window) into focus if it isn't already. - Press Alt-Space to open the window menu (the one that's in the top left of a window usually) - Press M to select "Move" - Press any of the arrow keys just once - The window is now stuck to your mouse cursor - Move it to somewhere you can see it - Click to put it in place - Carry on with life I'm not certain but I think this also fixes the situation where a pop-up window is behind some other window. (It was a lot of fun teaching hospital emergency department staff how to do this, as they'd otherwise get locked out of the hospital IT system by modal dialog boxes appearing in the last saved position on a second monitor their current workstation did not have) (named for the one in Tasmania, not in Russia) Last edited: 20/01/2025 at 23:29 by DonRiver Reason: Treason Log in to reply |
