Hi - I have recently been running a chain between Brighton and Lancing without any issues, but suddenly when I tried to resume where I left off from the last session about a week ago, I have not been able to locate any recent save files for Lancing. The Brighton files are all there, but anything from about 2 months ago for Lancing literally disappeared and have gone from the SimSig folder where they are normally saved. Can I ask if anybody else has had this issue, and does anybody have any suggestions as to how to recover the missing files....? I have checked all the usual things like making sure no files are hidden, checking the viewing permission, restarting the PC etc etc but all to no avail. Thanks Log in to reply |

Have you looked in the recycle bin (usually hiding on your C: drive)?

It seems strange that save files from last year are still in the folder, but everything later than late Dec 2024 has disappeared. Check which type of 'date' Windows is showing you. I have noticed that 'date created' can be preferred to 'date modified'. You might find the 'Dec 2024' are in fact the latest just showig the old 'date created' that has been overwritten due to the same filename for an automated save Log in to reply |

I just had the very same thing happen on Carlisle. I played for an hour or two earlier today and had made it up to around 1430 sim-time. SimSig is set up to auto-save every 10 minutes, I have had it like this since I first started using the sim. When I went back to continue this evening every single recent save file was gone from my computer, except for a manual save I did a few days ago. Other than that, only old auto-saves from late 2023 which I suppose was the previous time I played Carlisle. I run Windows 10 and have looked everywhere on my hard drive. The files are gone.
