Hello, I had this strange adverse aspect at Bletchley. I had two trains approaching platform 5 around the same time. I decided to let 3J01 go first. 3J01 was ready to go in about two minutes so I set signal 9839 to proceed. Since 2B65 was approaching I thought maybe it could be set as a call on route from signal 5221 to 9839. What this did however was to turn signal 9839 to danger, change the point directly after 9839 to straight ahead towards Bletchley Relief 2 and then back to Fanny Stratford. Finally signal 9839 went back to two yellow proceed aspect. Is this normal? I would expect either the route from signal 5221 not be able to be set, or the signal to display danger as long as 3J01 was still occupying platform 5? Note also that the route from signal 9839 appears to be set in two directions.

It is not permitted to set a calling-on route into a platform while a proceed aspect is being displayed by the platform starting signal. This is against the rules and is generally prevented by the interlocking. Controls to prevent this are called 'Huddersfield control' https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:glossary:huddersfield_control However the result of attempting to set such a route should not be what you experienced. Yes, what you say is basically what I was expecting. Hence I was somewhat surprised that the signal at the platform en changed.
