Hello all, I am having an issue on my new PC. I have loaded up Westbury and Exeter to carry on with a timetable I started on my old PC (it's on the external drive so just plugged it in here) but got the new system files first so I could run it. I added only a handful at least and tried to save on Westbury but no matter what I did it kept saying 'unable to save timetable'. I tried it on Exeter too and got the same thing. I can't see how the new system file could make it corrupt so it is unlikely to be that. I am running on Windows 7 Premium Home 64 bit and I have right clicked the .exe file but I see no compability tab with no 'run as admin' box to be found. Is there something I maybe need to do? I am not quite an expert on Win7 yet and am pretty new to having to do these security measures to get something to work. Any help would be appreciated, James. Log in to reply |

Probably an issue with trying to write TTs to an area that W7 doesn't think you are competent to use (don't you love it when it's your computer, but Windows knows better). In the later sims like Worksop, there is an option under the Control tab in F3 to use the Public Documents folder for TTs which by default will save the TTs in an area Windows will accept. Yes I know! Not used to having to set my own permission to run a game!  I have looked in South Humberside and in F3 the Public Documents folder is already checked. I went back to Westbury to try and save a TT but I still get the error (the actual words are 'Error saving timetable' sorry didn't put that in the first post) Log in to reply |

When you go to Timetable - Save As, you normally get a normal Windows pop-up asking you for the name of the file etc. At the top of that pop-up is a drop-down marked Save In: Can you use that drop-down to navigate to the Public Documents folder and then try and save the TT? “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

You probably want to put it in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SimSig\SimName entering %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SimSig\ should start you off. Log in to reply |

Ben If you are working from a TT created within the sim (rather than as a .csv or .txt or the Convdata output from them), how do you do it? I think that is the problem at issue here. On my PC I just go to Save and it works automatically

Managed to find out why! It seemed the SimSig folder didn't have full control for my user (well it is only me on this PC!) in the security tab so I changed it to allow all so it checked all the boxes and it now says 'timetable saved ok' Thank you for the assistance anyway, hope it might come in use for anyone else who uses win7.
