I'm having a problem with Saltey where the sim crashes very frequently, sometimes with in a minute or two or starting a sim. The trigger is always click on the vertical scroll bar - this causes the window to turn grey and and the program to stop responding. Edit 1: Windows 7 64bit, latest drivers and Simsig system files, all other sims, including Euston, are fine. Edit 2: Towards the bottom to scroll it down. Below the bar and above the arrow (so as to get it to scroll all the way down). Overiew is open also, which why the thing doesn't fit vertically to begin with (1680x1050 screen). Which operating system are you running? Are you up to date with the latest system files? Where exactly on the verticle scroll bar are you clicking which is causing this? What happens if you reduce the window by using the "restore down" tab located on the top right hand corner? Barry Forget that. I does not have a "restore down" lol. Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Last edited: 06/12/2011 at 01:47 by BarryM Reason: add info Log in to reply |

Nothing. The process is hung. Only way out is to open task manager and kill it. None of the other control methods (F-keys, etc) respond either.

Tyler, I feel that it is screen problem with 7. It works okay in XP. Can you emulate XP? If so, may be the way to go Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Not sure if I have the XP emulation stuff installed. But like I said, I don't have this problem with any of the other sims, 100's of hours logged without it ever crashing.

Ok, hold the phone... I just fired up Trent for this first time in over a year - and just promptly managed to freeze Trent trying to scroll the exact same way.

Attempts to horizontally scroll on (at least) Kings Cross also freeze the sim. I can provide a dump file saved from task manager if that would be helpful. Edit: KingsX Dump - http://www.tylere.net/KingsX.zip (Link should work within 15 minutes of edit, uploading now, I'm going to bed) Last edited: 06/12/2011 at 05:02 by TylerE Log in to reply |

I doubt it has anything do with Windows 7 64Bit. Myself and atleast AGilchrist use it and don't have any issues. So some more questions for you. Is it one monitor you are using. Are you graphics drivers up to date? If your using an ATI graphics card are you using that rather annoying virtual desktop extender? Do you have a scroll wheel on your mouse? Does it hang when doing Shift + Wheel Scroll? Log in to reply |

ATI card yes, but single monitor setup, nothing fancy. Will try the mouse scroll thing when I get home (~8 hrs) Log in to reply |

What version of the ATI display driver? And what version of CCC (Catalyst Control Center)? And what grayling card? I remember my 4830 not liking the original version 9 drivers when scrolling in SimSig, paged sims would also cause a black screen. I think this is the same issue as ttp://SimSig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=14&id=19814&Itemid=145#19814 I've had this happen, especially Trent. That thread recommends rebooting, which I hate doing :D Just tried Saltley, clicked the space on the vertical scrollbar, freeze. Restarted it, tried the horizontal scrollbar, and nothing happened, but the vertical scrollbar works fine, so try that. FYI, I'm using WinXP and an ATI card w/2 monitors, and my card is half dead, and the drivers haven't been updated for years Last edited: 06/12/2011 at 19:44 by Kage Reason: Added OS Log in to reply |
