The next station is? (Game) The aim of the game is to accumulate as many points as possible by building up the number of “stops” on a journey, then reaching the end of a line. How to play: 1) At the start of the game, the opening poster (eg me) chooses a station for the game to start from, or they can call “Open Floor” in which case another player can choose the starting station. As long as the station meets the following criteria: a. It is on NR metals, or LUL metals (Including Merseyrail.). b. It has a through line (Not a terminus station, eg Wrexham Central couldn’t be used) c. It is not the station that ended the previous game. Once the starting station is chosen players take it in turn to post the next station on the journey. “faster” services can be used to skip stations, for example if the current station was Chester, we could opt to go to straight to Flint and miss out Shotton as only the ATW Llandudno services stop at Shotton. It would be helpful if you noted this in your post. 2) Freight only lines cannot be used, only lines which have a passenger service at least once a week. 3) Connections can only be made at the station, no walking, buses or other forms of transport. (Eg you couldn’t walk from Warrington Bank Quay to Warrington Central. 4) You cannot double back through a station that has already been used unless there is another unused route from that station. 5) When a player reaches the end of the line, or a station that has no more routes to choose from, the game is over, the number of stations called at is added together and added to the scoreboard against that players name. 6) Bonus Points can be obtained for certain moves. a. Using a Parliamentary service 5 Points b. Using a route with less than 3 trains per day 2 Points Please note either of these in your post. At the time you make the post. 7) Wrong Answer? If a wrong answer is posted, the author may state this, then correct it. Or another poster can call the answer into question. I’ll add a score table to the next post down in the thread and will keep it up to date with the winners.
