Turntables. a) Where was there a double track turntable carrying a frequent passenger service? b) Where on a national rail network is there a turntable with a regular passenger service across it? 4. Name two countries that only have ONE railway station. - Vatican City, the Vatican - Monte Carlo, Monaco 5. Which railway station is in a different country to the town it serves? Welshdragon, You are correct with Knighton alan_s, Its not Brussels, that has North, Central & South (Midi is South) Peter Bennet The "DB" station Basel Bad Bhf is still in Basel Switzerland, although you have to go through passport control to get on/off the platforms. Well done for those who thought of Botanic Gardens, but for 2. the name give is the entire station name. Still plentry to go at. Peter. 5. Pity the word 'town' was in the question! B) l'Hospitalet près l'Andorre (in France) now serves the country of Andorra with a bus to the village (and capital city) of Andorra la Vella! Went on it back in the 80's - spectacular! The bus (then) ran from Latour-de-Carol (the track has now been lifted!) and had to run to a train timetable going down; the queues at the customs/border would have delayed it so a police escort at high speed was regularly used - not for the faint hearted as the sheer drops were on the nearside :woohoo: Regards to all... As I recall, the attempted coup in Russia in the early 90s involved a building called the Russian White House, which housed the Russian Parliament. So is the answer to #10 the Moscow Metro?

The nearest stations to the Kremlin are Lenin's Library and Revolution square, neither on the Circle line. My biggest mistake in Moscow was deciding to walk as it was only one stop on the metro, they were 2 miles apart! Thanks for trying. Peter. A longshot with 2c. The village of Anger in Central Austria did have a station and even has a Bahnhofstrasse (Station Street) but the OBB planner only shows bus connections from Anger. The old Nordbahnhof had one of my favourite station entrances which was a section of wall with a hole in it, the S-bahn station being underground. The ostbahn and sudbahn platforms were at right-angles to each other. Both have now closed to make way for the new Hauptabahnof which will link the two lines (it was to be called Zentalbahnhof, but it isn't very Central). Wien Nord is now Praterstern and Mitte used to be called Hauptzollampt. Westbahnhof seems to have survived without a name change. Peter.
