Leicester PSB closed as a signal centre yesterday 24th December 2011. All control now moved to East Midlands signalling centre at Derby. I remember Leicester PSB opening in 1986 when I was on the footplate at St.Pancras & Bedford. When all things considered, Leicester PSB must be one of the shortest lived PSBs compared to the likes of Sheffield, Derby, Trent & West Hampstead.

Now two WestCAD workstations. Incorporates the recent-ish Croft Workstation, So I believe Croft SB will have closed down too. This mean that Derby now fringes with Rugby SCC Nuneaton workstation.

Just had an update from a friend who worked there for a fewweeks whilst training in 1990. Leicester PSB will remian open for one more week. Closes on New years eve now.

Phil Deaves' website shows Croft SB as having been scheduled for closure 25-Dec-2011.

Leicester PSB was due to close as stated but the Death Knell was postponed by a week to Week 39 . This has now been changed to Week 40 i.e now next week
