Bizarre- 17 month Franchise (with 1 year option). I know the last Government wanted shot of NX but would it not have been better to allow them a 17 month extension rather than this? A 1 year extension, to both, seems a bit silly too. Oh well I'm Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

There was some thought that virgin might miss out on the shortlist for west coast. Im Surprised First are on there as i would have thought the over-running of first trains towards glasgow would remove that. If First get WC then Scotrail, WC and TPE will all be first group - nice little cluster for them. I reckon SNCF might make a good job of it - they have plenty of high speed routes themselves that certainly dont run badly. Looking at that list though i would be surprised if First dont get it, unless any of the others have amazing plans that are unique Log in to reply |
