OED indicates a preference for -ize endings, whereas every other British source I'm aware of prefers -ise.
-ize was good enough for Shakespeare:

Then with the losers let it sympathize,
For nothing can seem foul to those that win.
Depends where you look. The Arden Shakespeare Complete Works edited by senior academics Ann Thompson, David Scott Kastan, Richard Proudfoot (A&C Black 2001 edition) gives sympathise, not sympathize. You can verify at this link (lines 7/8 of Scene 5.1).

Presumably that's their revisionizm!

But I wouldn't advocate that we start using Shakespearean English for all forum posts ;)

When you pull off after TRTS:

"Stand not upon the order of your going, but go."

or, if they've been whinging on the phone first:

"Avaunt, and quit my sight!"

As the original poster of the thread , i didnt realize that my spelling mistakes would cause so much conversation . The reason that it was poorly written was the fact i had a few drinks and i should of checked the thread before posting .

I apologise again about my spelling and grammer in the original thread.

This thread has only just been brought to my attention. I read this first:
