Been under discussion for years but they couldn't work out how to fund it - Watford's outside the Mayor of London's area, so TfL couldn't legally put any money in, and I don't think the local councils wanted to, even though it was patently one of the best ideas anyone had had for years. Nice to see exactly where it's planned to run. Ascot Road will suit us nicely when we moor there on our way back from "oop north", it's a spot we often choose with Watford Met just around the corner & a pleasant weekend run from our home mooring. It will be the end of LT's first VDU/computer driven interlocking though (worked from Ricky box). Log in to reply |

There is a whole web-site dedicated to the changes at this link. It states that the scheme is being promoted by Hertfordshire County Council in partnership with London Underground and Network Rail and that Croxley Rail Link has been awarded the necessary central government funding required for its construction.
