Most likely a Class 50 in Network SouthEast livery, hauling NSE Mk2s, probably going somewhere like Bristol, Exeter or Newton Abbot (to go via Dawlish and the sea wall). :cheer: B) Click 'Thank You' below this very post if you like and/or agree to this, and would perhaps like to do/be the same. I think I'd like to be a black 5 if its steam era. Get a choice then of passengers and then if I get bored I can pull a freight or two!! If we are talking modern era, I'm with UkTrainMan and its a class 50 all the way except it would be throttles wide open down the Lickey Incline..... I'd be a double Fairlie - looks bizarre, can't tell whether it's coming or going, but it gets to its destination by brute force! Mike Log in to reply The following user said thank you: handle |

FGW HST, fast but rather large, good looking but mature, able to enjoy the views of the South West, yet nip to London in 3 hours.

I didn't say what i would be... I would be steam and i think id ether be a 14xx or Ivatt tank or and USA tank if i was a 14xx you would find me on a branch line in Devon pulling short trains, auto coach, local trains and the occasional short freight if i was an Ivatt, local passenger trains and general freight and if i was a USA Tank hard freight small but strong :) I think it would nice being an engine I'd like it Last edited: 16/03/2012 at 10:14 by handle Log in to reply |

14XX's can handle a lot more than just an auto coach. The SDR (South Devon Railway http://www.southdevonrailway.co.uk/) used to survive fine with 1420 (out of service for major overhaul) on a 5 coach main set for a whole day. Used to give some brilliant runs along the River Dart a few years back, as well as being used on the traditional auto trains.
