This matter was previously discussed quite extensively, and eventually (sometime after the last post on that thread was made) the view count was disabled / hidden. The statistics are probably still available by having the view count re-enabled and indeed this could perhaps be done as a test to see if the problem still rears it head. If it does then I may end up taking up the suggestion mentioned in the last post in the aforementioned thread.

I remember checking the raw server logs which correlated with the view count. I never did hear about the thread on jVitals, though now is probably too late since it went payware.
