I wouldn't call this a bug, just an anomaly in the way the failures kick in. It arose on Lancing, but I think would be a core code issue but has more chance of coming up on smaller sims (especially when running on difficult with consequent high numbers of failures). I had a signal failure reported but at that moment there wasn't an unlit signal as is usually the case. Eventually I realised that the failure was on a signal that already had a failure, but in failing again (in this instance, the red lamp) it meant that the existing failure (yellow) had been cleared as the signal was now showing yellow. I double checked to make sure, and the previous failure hadn't been reported fixed. Log in to reply |

It probably is a bug in that the initial failure was not reported as fixed before the signal failed again. It is, I suspect, more likely to occur in smaller simulations due to the probability of that same signal failing more frequently due to far fewer signals on the simulation that can fail. It could be - once I've worked further through I'll see what happens when it gets reported as fixed. Yes, that's what I meant, I just didn't say it very well! Log in to reply |

The signal has now been fixed, and I did receive 2 separate notifications about it, so both failures were indeed theoretically still 'live', even though in practice the second one had prevented the first from manifesting and made it act as if the first failure had been fixed. Unfortunately no train passed the signal between the first and second fixes, so I couldn't confirm that the first fix made no difference to the signal's actual operation. Log in to reply |

If you have a savegame of between the second failure occurring and the first being fixed, try using the incident control panel to manipulate the signal aspects and see what happens. Ironically, this sort of thing happens occasionally in reality - the S&T go out to fix a fault, and end up making things worse! Log in to reply |

Restoring lamp proving on the affected signal via incident panel obviously clears all failures, and then removing it again fails the signal entirely on all aspects - I don't think there's an option in the control panel to control failures of individual lamps is there?
