When and why has the above lost signal control of Farringdon Station as I was there tuesday night and the signals are now controlled by Victoria with a VC ID plate.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling its something to do with the Moorgate branch disappearing and Victoria gaining an extra signal. The change over point between West Hampstead and Victoria was Snow Hill tunnel. West Hampstead also controlled the Moorgate branch when it was opened.

South Eastern used to terminate at Blackfriars but during the rebuilding of the station it was easier to carry on to Kentish Town.

Farringdon station is now controlled from 2 boxes. Anything heading north is under West Hampstead box on a WESTCAD work station which controls the signals at the north end of the station and anything going south is controlled from WESTCAD work stations at Victoria ASC which controls the signals at the south end. It was all to do with the Thameslink project.

Older than that! Assuming the date on my camera was correct, it was March 2011.

And here is a photo from the Victoria "Panel 6" side from this morning...

Notice that Southbound (left to right, upper line) Victoria controls the home signal southwards, and Northbound (right to left, lower line) Victoria controls up to the mid-platform signal, and West Hampstead controls the platform starter.
