The sim is Saltley PSB. The West Midlands signalling centre is a WestCAD installation and so can't be simulated by SimSig.

Westcad has many forms. For instance there are several Westcad systems at Birmingham New St PSB these would not be preclueded from being simulated because they are only used in push button circuitry that interface with a TDM system

Sorry, should have clarified. This WestCAD installation can't be done.

Sorry, should have clarified the type of installation. The West Midlands signalling centre uses a WestCAD ssytem that can't be simulated.

I know (as I've been testing parts for them) that TRE are involved with various parts of WMSCC resignalling, so any updating could be prejudial due to contractural & commercial matters. Regardless of the type of installation, it's the access (by TRE) to NR data and information. Clarity of non-conflict of interest not only has to be maintained, it must be seen to be so.
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

WestCAD is the computer based control and display system used in the West Midlands signalling centre. TRESIM produced a WestCAD simulation of this and so it can't be simulated by SimSig.

When we talk about Westcad then it is normally referring to the signaller's control and display system. But it has been used for non-display purposes as well as it has useful logic processing in the software - and is extendable with DLLs.

But is Stourbridge and Kidderminster controlled from WMSCC yet? The SimSig Saltley is indeed of the old Saltley PSB which certainly didn't control those areas.

Yes, the boxes controlling this area closed in August. I'm not sure if this would prevent including the old boxes as part of a Worcester area simulation though.

Snow Hill was controlled from the old Saltley PSB before the Leamington Corridor resignalling. Its a relay based interlocking situated at Snow hill controlled via a TDM system that is still in use today.

Westcad is a computer based control system, there is none of it at New Street. If memory serves me correctly, New Street is is Westpac interlocking, which is much older technology (now considered obsolete).

Geoff, Hartlebury, Kidderminster Junction, Blakedown and Stourbridge Junction signal boxes closed over the August bank holiday weekend this year, control passing to the WMSC. Stourbridge Junction was an NX panel which controlled three SSIs. The others were all lever frames.

Stourbridge was a recontrol rather than a resignalling scheme, although there were a few minor changes, the others were completely resignalled from scratch.

Steve,

I will take some photo's of the Westcad at B'ham PSB if you like they were first was done in 2008 to replace the old Westronic F1. They are used as panel Processors that did away with the push button interlocking that interfaces with an Invensys S2 TDM to remote interlockings.
Blakedown was a panel.
so in theory the you could add upto blakedown onto the Saltley Simulation as i don't believe TRE have done any simulations of Stourbridge.

Only Kidderminster Junction was a lever frame at the time of closure. Blakedown and Hartlebury were panels.

TRE In fact, have. This includes all of Saltley's former area of control transferred to WMSCC apart from the remaining bit that fringes with Gloucester.
