Today is the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. Yes, the celebrations were yesterday (did anyone else notice Google?), but 10th January 1863 is the day that paying passengers first got to ride on the Metropolitan Line (now the Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines) from Paddington Bishop's Road to Farringdon. I note that the BBC still do not recognise the difference between an underground railway and a tube railway. I reckon steam traction on the latter would have really been interesting. Also congratulations to our C&W dept for turning out four 100 year old coaches fit to run on LUL. :cheer:
