I liked the pictures of the old Belford PSB and Tweedmouth in that photostream.

Co-operative axle counter resets. Both the signaller and technician have to reset at the same moment. There is some rather unusual signalling owing to the very short signal sections and the fact that a good part of the Wirral workstation runs in a tunnel.

Would have similarities to Panel C on your excellent Carlisle Simulation.

Mind you not sure that the ECML ever had as an intensive freight service as the electrified WCML and there would be a lot of crossings to operate, which can be challenging if you try and run a larger simulation single handed.
