Sorry to return to this one (it has been previously discussed) but I have checked very carefully now and there is no doubt that on these moves the loco is propelling the train, i.e. it's on the west end. Is this correct? It seems a rather odd move to propel a train out of a yard onto a principal line. If the loco is on that end I can't see the reason for the detachment as the train is Swindon bound. Some trains have a yard pilot loco on the front/up/east end. It draws the train out with the train loco at the rear/down end, detaches, and runs back into the yard as soon as the train departs towards Swindon. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

Thanks for the input Andy. That would be the scenario I would expect. It's all a bit confusing. The train exits TC on the up reverse line and immediately a TD for the loco appears in pink (i.e off route) on the down reverse, but there is never any track circuit occupation for this. If you can get the train to divide (not easy!) it is a pre-requisite to drop the detached loco from the west end back into TC before the train can proceed. This despite the TT calling for "DF 0xxx", which would imply a loco on the east end of the train as you infer and as I would expect. All very confusing. Ray Log in to reply |
