If my diagrams are right, it's probably this ECS move coming from Streatham Hill, which then forms 1B27, the 17:56 service to Brighton.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

There's also an 18:23 from London Bridge to Eastbourne.

Gatwick Express hasn't existed to own stock since 22 June 2008, what you saw was a Southern 442, they run the aforementioned 18:23 London Bridge - Eastbourne service.

I would have to go with Jan on this one, as there is a 3B27 16+55 Streatham Hill to London Bridge arriving at 17+45 to form 1B27 1756 to Brighton, formed of 10 car 442 stock. The other 442 diagam off London Bridge is the 3F83 17+37 Streatham Hill to London Bridge arriving at 18+13, to form 1F83 1823 to Eastbourne also formed of 10 car 442.

Did it own or lease?

Fair point, I think they've always been owned by Angel Trains.

However they've never been operated by 'Gatwick Express' (the TOC), only by Southern.
