The next SimSig meet will take place on Saturday 16th. March at the Stag and Hounds, 74 Old Market Street, Bristol, BS2 0EJ. The venue is a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads Station. The meet will take place in their function room and will be the usual format of an area to chat and an area where a multiplay session will take place. A buffet will be provided. The meet has been placed on the Events Section so please sign up if you wish to attend. As usual there will be a charge for the meet to cover the costs of setting up the meet and paying for the buffet. No price is quoted so far as details of the buffet are still to be confirmed but it is not expected to be markedly different from previous events. There are no details available as yet about what simulations might be used on the day. However, there is a commitment that if any new sims are used, downloads will be made available through the SimSig site for use by those who are unable or do not wish to attend the meet. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following users said thank you: jc92, northroad, Sam Tugwell |

Unfortunately, the costs of travel are a little prohibiting from my part of the world (Lincoln). Although some advance purchase tickets are still available (grab them quick folks since they've been available for a couple of weeks already), I'm putting money towards other things this year. Perhaps see you all later in the year at (what could be for me), a more cost effective meet. Sorry folks - you'll need an alternative supply of power cables for this one! Now this is annoying - although the Stag & Hounds is a lovely pub within walking distance from my house, I have other signalling-related commitments on that date! Curses!

Same as I work weekends only at the moment now! However I haven't used all my holiday so to speak, as I have booked some in advance, but I may be able to move it instead...

Remember that cheap flights can be had to Bristol from most places in the UK. It enabled me to easily attend the Newcastle meet from Bristol.

I might be able to make this, but it does depend on cost to be honest, as I've got a London trip in the planning around that time. So yes, until costs are confirmed, I can't confirm attendance.. Username TIM in multiplayer Log in to reply |

The Home Page has now been updated to give details of the prices and the Shop will now take payment. For those who wish to pay in advance (payment by 8th. March) the cost will be £8.00. After that date it will be payment on the door at £10.00. For those who do not wish to pay using Paypal through the Shop, payment by cheque will be accepted. Please PM me for details of how to pay by this method. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

What is the usual protocol for the meets ? As a new person attending do I need to bring my laptop which only has a couple of simulations on it ? Or can I just turn up (having registered) and not bring my laptop ? Regards John Log in to reply |

" said:What is the usual protocol for the meets ? As a new person attending do I need to bring my laptop which only has a couple of simulations on it ?John The whole thing works by a network of common-user laptops enabling those who wish to take part in a multiplay to fulfil their desires. It would be helpful if you could bring your laptop (and power-supply) but only if you are willing to let others sit at your keyboard during the course of the day. It is unlikely that there will be any new simulations given a first airing on the day, but my laptop has downloads of pretty much every sim since the year dot so if a sim is being run that you don't have on your laptop there will be a version available for you to install. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

People who are willing to make their laptops available, and who have not already done so, might like to consider creating a user account for that purpose and locking their normal accounts with a password. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

We have already had to let the venue know how many will attend so the buffet can be arranged. I hope we can get the number changed, but if you do intend to come to the meet you must sign up for the event through the web-site by noon GMT on Friday 15th after which I will be ringing the venue to see if we can change the numbers. I will be taking the numbers from the list on the events section as I won't have the time tomorrow to trawl through the Forum to check for late additions. If you don't sign up by then, there will be no buffet for you. Payment through the shop can still be made until 17:00 GMT on Friday.

" said:John,In which case I'm going to have to make the time to trawl through this thread. Please post here by noon GMT today if you want to attend and eat. I don't want to get into complicated arrangements on the door, so there will be no reduction in the entry fee if you attend but don't have your name down in time to get the buffet numbers adjusted. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |
