What I have seen in Derby were a lot of people not wearing their uniform. Probably becouse they don't have such a SimSig polo. So is it an idea that new ones will be made and the raised funds go to website maintenance and donations for simulation makers? Or perhaps other things, like a SimSig coffy/tea mug or Beer glases? Just an idea...

The problem is finding a supplier willing to do small batches. The lady who did the polo shirts wanted a minimum of 25 shirts for the first batch but was then happy to do smaller batches thereafter. However, take-up has been low (I still have two spare) so I doubt I'll be ordering any more. It would be nice to have more branded goods but the demand simply isn't there.

Is there any particular reason why the take-up has been so low? I would like to see the people not interested in owning and wearing a SimSig polo shirt say if there is a reason why they don't want to wear one. Personally I think it should at least be a request at the meets that you wear the SimSig Polo Shirt unless you're letting people know in-advance that you'll be wearing something else instead. In the mean time, may I please ask Geoff about his two he has spare (Sizes? Colours?) as I may personally be interested in purchasing one for myself. Thanks. Since when have I had to wear a uniform to enjoy my HOBBY! My company buys me a uniform for work... I wear it accrdingly. I buy the clothes that I wear in my lesuire time and therefore I choose what to wear and when. To suggest that people have to wear a SimSig polo shirt to go and socalise at a meet is, well, I can't say on a public forum! Many people out there are on a vary limited budge, indeed, whilst not being on a limited budget, I have a wife, 2 kids, dog, cat, chickens at home so I have to be VERY carefull with my money and make sure that I get the most out of it, so buying a poloshirt espically for wearing twice a year is just not going to happen. OK, rant over. Noisynoel Log in to reply |

I agree with Noel here - this is purely a hobby and it is not my job or desire to tell people how to dress. If they want to then great; if they don't then it's not an issue. What's more important is personal hygiene - one or two people could have done with introducing themselves to the shower/bath before they turned up, but that's another story.

I'm sure someone would have done if they hadn't been locked shut!
