I was happily playing the timetable and saw 4S18 roll into the area from Corby Gates, 7 minutes early. Then a while later, 4S31-1 rolled in, 6 minutes late. When I looked at the trains, I was very surprised to see that they had completely identical timetables, down to the half-minute! So I was wondering, is this a mutual exclusion rule missing from the timetable (e.g. maybe those trains only ever run on different days in real life), or is it a quirk of real world timetabling? Obviously it’s not possible to achieve both timetables perfectly…
