Check the download area. If there's one you don't have then yes there is, other wise no there isn't.

If a new sim is released you'll certainly see it on the SimSig.co.uk front page.

And it's no good asking when a sim will be ready if one is due because the ONLY answer you will get is "It will be ready when it's ready"

Wells (the originator of this thread) has a valid point here. Certainly, notices of new sims or updates to existing sims should appear on the home page, but this only displays the latest release. There is nothing in the forum or Wiki that displays such announcements in chronological order that I know of. Ideally, the Releases and the Timetable sections of the Simulations section should have a section named New Releases and Updates preceding the section with links to individual sims, so anyone "catching up" can review what's been announced since he/she last visited. These sections should be confined to announcements only, with links to the respective sim or TT, and moderated accordingly. The only forum section that resembles this is Recent Topics (confusingly also named Recent Discussions). The In Development section does this for developers, but this is not for the general user. Well, it's never been an issue before. I have sometimes spent weeks not looking at the forum, but within seconds of logging back in all the threads that will have been started to thank the devs, find bugs, nit pick & pick holes, will normally be enough to say, "Oh, that sim wasn't about when I left, it must be new... I'll go look in the downloads or check the homepage!!" Noisynoel Log in to reply The following users said thank you: DriverCurran, Forest Pines |

I consider the T-Shirts to be in very bad taste and should not be featured in this thread. Where are the Administrators?

According to a notice that appeared in one of our signalboxes a few months back, a kitten also dies whenever you don't use a lever cloth!

" said:I consider the T-Shirts to be in very bad taste and should not be featured in this thread. Where are the Administrators? As I noted, it's certainly not uncommon, and nor unique to this site. That doesn't make it right but do note that it's not advocating the action (which certainly would be distasteful) but observing something that allegedly happens. The common variation seems to be "Every time you <do something>, God kills a kitten". In deference to those who are offended, may I suggest to the others to refrain from further discussion about the kitten issue? If you would like your own post deleted, use the "report" button on your own post, lest I be accused of censorship  . SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

On the subject of forums threads/posts apparently being needed to announce new simulation releases (link).... upon my somewhat recent return to SimSig, I had no problems whatsoever finding out about the release of sims such as the excellent North Wales Coast; the lovely Llangollen; and the decent Carlisle - all via either the Homepage (most likely) or a very quick browse of the recent threads/post that already existed on the forum anyway (for reporting of any bugs, or general discussion of the simulations). Don't forget that if a simulation has been 'fully released'*, it should end up having it's own section for discussion here. * = Sims such as Brighton, Derby, and Oxted are betas, and as such come under the In development section. " said: " said:Gawd knows how many that is for all the times I've pulled any such levers - I forget how many I've pulled at St. Albans South Signal Box whilst signalling a train along the Up Slow over two separate visits; plus the numerous miniatures I pulled when I once (or possibly more than once) visited the mock signal box they had(?) at Crewe Heritage Centre. (No, I'm not talking about Exeter West, I'm talking about the one that overlook(s/ed)(?) the 'real' train line and station)According to a notice that appeared in one of our signalboxes a few months back, a kitten also dies whenever you don't use a lever cloth! That's 27 kittens every time I run a train round at Carrog.
