I have read reports that the box at Dawlish was eventually dismantled over last weekend. Great pity to see it go as it was nearly always prominent on any photos taken of the station location. One of the things to look out for when travelling down that way. Does anyone know if any preservation group stepped in to claim it or was it as I fancy to far gone for anybody to want to. Unfortunately it was demolished due to the structure having become unsafe, I saw the start of the demolition process last Wednesday, and when I passed on Friday, all obvious remains had disappeared, I was told the remains have been buried in the hole left by the signalling equipment.
