Just a note that there is no loco run round timetabled for the Ardingly stone trains at Haywards Heath in the 2009 TT in the refreshed sim. Sorry if it;s been mentioned before.

If we were to edit this ourselves, what would need to go in the TT? In other words, which lines are used for running round? I imagine its the loop on the east side of Haywards Heath station but if someone could elaborate on the specific moves, that would be most helpful.

BarryM, I think your first suggestion of shorting 6O47 is the one that works. UKtrainman's idea to set the route into the spur without changing the length of 6O47 appears to have a problem. The section of track between signal 345 and the spur never times out. So you cannot sent the route from 1230 into the DN SDG SOUTH as points 1796 are locked. See attached screen shot With 6O47 reduced to 230M it happily sits behind signal 345 and the run around with 0O47 works a treat Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Well, I've tried this multiple ways, and I can't make it work. There are two conflicting problems: At Haywards Heath, Using Far End Exact will not allow cancellation of the route between Signal 345 and the Spur end, rendering the detached locomotive immovable. I've tried Default, Near end, Far end - these the track to naturally cancel, and the locmotive can perform the runaround, and can re-attach to 6O47 successfully. BUT after joining, the locomotive has not passed the points on it's route from DN SDG NORTH, meaning the train cannot procede. (EDIT: I got those paragraphs round the wrong way, is all. Whatever, it's a catch 22.) As far as I can tell, there is no shunt backwards capability, nor is there any way to timetable the manuever anyway. So I'm anxiously awaiting suggestions. On another note, 230m does seem quite short. I'm no expert, I don't work on the rails, so perhaps someone can enlighten me, I hope so. But I recall several times watching a coal train rumble through Worthing on the west coastway at about 4am. I don't know any more about it, other than I saw i a few times (stood at the crossing gates for ages and ages as it trundled past), can't find any information about it online. I guessed it was travelling to Hove as I'd seen a coal yard there, but that's the limit of my knowledge. In any case, I'd have guessed it was way longer than 230m. So how would a train that long be handled at stations, bearing in mind the problem explained above? Try using Near End Exact+22m, it should leave space for the rejoining loco behind S344 clear of the points. As TC KBK is 260m long, if the arriving train is longer than say 240m it will need to stop beyond S345, so authorise it to PSaD with the points ahead keyed for the spur (to avoid route locking the spur point 1796). All worked OK when tested. Should be workable with trains up to 430m long.
