Signal Failures -SOLVED- 15/07/2013 at 18:50 #47188 | |

Why is it I only ever seem to get signal failures a signal or two ahead of the signal the train is at, causing the previous signal to revert to danger and the driver suffer a brown-trouser moment and report an ACOA. Is there any way I can select the random failures to happen away from the trains or is it just bad luck? Would appreciate some help here Thanks in advance Last edited: 16/07/2013 at 15:04 by GW43125 Log in to reply |

You can't stop random failures dropping signals in front of trains (although you do seem to be having a lot of bad luck!). You can turn off random failures and set your own signal failure by selecting the signal via the F11 Incident Control Panel and unticking the 'Lamp proving' box if you want though. That's a bit unusual though; in my experience the vast majority of failures would occur as something changed state (a lamp failed as the aspect changed, which would almost always be behind a train, or a track staying down as the train proceeded).

Agreed with the above. To be realistic, surely failures should be weighted towards where something changes - TCF occupation, change of signal aspect etc, whilst still retaining an element of randomness.

Actually, the signal failures and point failures do normally happen just as i set the route and my TCF's do generally happen when it doesn't clear behind a train, though not always the case Thanks Log in to reply |
