When you come out of the station cross the road at the pelican crossing and you'll see the "Tap and Barrel" pub in front of you, turn immediately right and walk along the footpath (Station Road). Holbrook way is I think the third turning left off Station Road and the building is called Western House which is jointly run by NR and FGW.

Yes that's it John. My apologies it's the "Queens Tap" pub as you come out of the station. If you turn immediately right after crossing the road via the Pelican Crossing it's about 5 mins walk via the route highlighted on the map.

It was indeed great fun! Pedroathome, I'm sure we must've come across each other during the visit, I was the guy in the light brown jacket with glasses and dodgy hair. Username TIM in multiplayer Log in to reply |

Nice to see you all there:- A repost from our Facebook Group:- Yesterday was the day of the first public meeting held at the Network Rail offices in Swindon followed by a visit to the panel itself. Those who visited the panel where shown the operating floor and the relay room where Tony Cotterell kindly gave an interesting talk on relay interlocking basics and explained what some of the relays downstairs where actually doing. I think we can safely say that it was a successful day. It was well attended and hopefully enjoyed by all. We took in a significant amount of money in donations which will be a great help towards our setup costs for which we are very grateful. It was especially good to finally meet so many of our support so far and hope to see you again in the near future. So I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who came and those who helped organise the event. I'd especially like to extend my thanks to the staff on duty in the box who where very patient towards us. " said:Nice to see you all there:-It should be more a case of thanking you for arranging such an interesting visit, and not forgetting preserving the panel. The signalers I thought were extremely patient with us as a group! I would also like to say that although I can't help financially with the project, I would be more than willing to come along and assist in any way I can be of use James Log in to reply |
