I often said that when Strathfield's ARS was commissioned Bill Gates was still in High School, (Although I don't think that's true.) I still have the full page newspaper advertisement when Strathfield was opened comparing it to Star Wars. How things change.

This is what we have come to expect from an aged, overloaded system, though our The Age is well known for taking the "glass half empty" approach. Still, without such publicity, upgrade of rail infrastructure will come a poor second to the fine new road tunnel our state Premier seems determined to push through before the next election. I guess this must sound awfully familiar to those on the other side of the world.
