Any chance of a DLR simulation? Just a bit of fun really but would be really interesting. Perhaps it could include the whole of the DLR or maybe only certain sections/routes. If anything, I would LOVE to see it terminate at Island Gardens, therefore using the old high-up platforms that I have so many fond memories of. Also would be interesting to include the bi-directional line working to/from Tower Gateway too. I don't mind if it uses the new platforms at Stratford or the old one, in-fact for ease it could use the two new platforms at Stratford as the old platform was so close to the Great Eastern Main Line that you might have to add extra 'stuff' on the screen.

I'd be more than willing to help out where ever possible to make this happen and if it could happen and a location visit was needed I would be tempted to provide some level of financial funding for this. Alternatively I could always carry out the location visits on your behalf - you tell me what photos etc you require and what questions etc I'd need to ask and I'll sort it all out.

I'd be interested to hear what people think about this.

Thanks,
UKTrainMan.

If I remember correctly what I have read, DRL use movable block sector (or how they are called in English). Would it be possible to simulate this with SimSig?

The only problem with the DLR is (AFAIK) pretty much all auto-running.

I'd like to see a full LU simm but it would be a bit dull because it would always be the same routes with no changes which is probably why Drain was about the biggest that has been released.

It's called "Moving-Block System" so you were pretty close :P

I realise that might be a crucial factor in any DLR simulation however I wouldn't mind if it didn't feature that. As long as I could 'feel like' I was signalling a DLR train that would satisfy me :)

I'm not sure if the DLR is fully automatic, there surely must be some level of human-interface at the depot / control room to some extent. Even so, that wouldn't really bother me. I'd just appreciate the feeling of signalling DLR trains around

Running off of that idea, why not simulate the East London Line as it was before it closed, including the section upto Shoreditch. So you'd have the line running from Shoreditch towards both New Cross and New Cross Gate calling at Whitechapel, Shadwell, Wapping, Rotherhithe, Canada Water, Surrey Quays then a junction with one line leading to New Cross and the other to New Cross Gate. This would therefore not be a large sim but it would cover another (short) Tube line in full.

Great Idea... How about we add more "Historical" lines that have opened then closed permanently.
