Hey everybody, After constant googling, I still can't find a picture of the panel for Birmingham New Street. I am either not looking far enough or it's not freely out there so I was wondering if anybody on here knew what it was like? I am just interested that's all. If you have a link to any pictures or anything related to it, then I'd be grateful to see them :D Thanks! Log in to reply |

Not quite what you're after, but there is footage of the panel as part of a recent Network Rail documentary. From 44 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GF_QmAODGQ Log in to reply |

There is this relevant thread regarding the simulation in development, however it is unfortunate that the images that were posted in it no longer display - looks like, based on the URLs, that thread was posted on the old version of the forum. Have tried editing said URLs to get one of the images up, but no luck (so far, at least). Perhaps Geoff may be willing to post something up again? Love those fridge-style magnets they've got for the various train types. Also, spot the mouse and the penguin :silly: Campaigns for being able to load PNG (for transparency) images into Simsig as sticky notes Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Thank the lord for someone posting Peter's photos. Just spent a good 45 minutes poring over them. Amazing how much no longer exists and has essentially been tippexed out! What was in the Smethwick GB area before the station - looks like a goods loop? Log in to reply |

Yes there was a loop on the up side, been gone for 30 years plus but still present within Galton junction interlocking. Eddy Log in to reply |

It would be an interesting exercise to see how many loops, sidings and other things are still "strapped out" in interlockings despite being removed many years previously.
