This has just occurred to me- is there any form of written record kept of trains entering and leaving a panel working to TCB regulations in all directions? Or is it all left to systems like TRUST?

Some boxes, usually smaller ones in my limited TCB experience, do record trains signalled to/from adjacent boxes under TCB regulations - making use of the columns for 'description received' and 'description sent'. At AB/TCB fringe boxes, of course, the usual ILC/TES/TOS columns would be used on the same row for the AB section in the opposite direction. One of our boxes, though, controls a relatively extensive TCB area (on the 'branch'as well as working AB in both directions on the 'main' - not only are the times at which descriptions are received and sent (to the adjacent PSB) recorded, but also the arrival and departure times at the sole station in that area of TCB. Makes for quite a lot of booking at times!

All boxes/panels/workstations keep either a Train Register Book or an Occurrance Book* in which to record faults, failures or out of course events. This is also where bells sent under TS2 Reg 3.5 are recorded in the same way as they are for TS3 Reg 3.4. *Same idea, slightly different format. The exception is panel 3 where there isn't time to shout abuse :-) TVSC Link 4 signaller - Temple Meads, Bath & Stoke Gifford Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Steamer |
