Hi at all. I have to divert 1P13 from Perry Bar North Jn to Stechford in case of an track circuit failure in stechford. So i routed via SoHo an BNS, and i got the "wrong route"-message for aston, stechford and birmingham international. every telephone call i answered with "by pass XXX..." for every timetable-location. After i have done this for every entry, the Driver called again, in case of wrong Routing at Signal 272... the only way to get him driven through new street is to say him, he has to abondon the timetable. i thought i only have to make an "Bypass"-answer for Aston... is this a bug? or is it not okay to divert Trains when i have an signal-failure? I don't believe it is as the train is expecting the next timetabled location (it can't see past the in between bit to the end of the diversion route). I would like to see it where you could send trains around 'the circle' if needed as long as it didn't mean the train would miss a stop (for instance the train could see from soho west to proof house if monument tunnel was shut) or as in your case a train could be diverted from Stechford to Perry Bar North via new street, with only questioning the route once, and one answer to be, "Yes please", in addition to "by-pass", "abandon timetable", "call back in 5 mins" as the diversion route is self contained (A bit like Stafford when the Hixon lines are/were blocked (I haven't played the new one yet, too busy with NS) Log in to reply |

I suspect the answer to this one may be to add 'dummy' timetables for the diversions to the timetable file - a suitable description that would be memorable enough and just the compulsory timing points with 00:00 times at each so the diverted train just keeps going. Then, when diverting, tell the driver to run to another timetable. You wouldn't even need to change the description on the panel (you might not want to change it, as that might be what reminded you which train it should be when it regained its proper route). A final refinement, which I'll also propose in features wish list, is a telephone option for 'run to a diversionary timetable' - drivers diverted between Colwich and Stone don't challenge the signal but in many cases (as here) they would usually do so and need telling they were being diverted.
