Hi all,
Hope someone can help me with this,

I was attempting to convert an unfinished TT file from .wtt to .txt, however when I try to do so, I get the message 'Convdata terminated with exit code 1633944'.

I am running Brighton.sim with version 4.0.31 of the loader.

All help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
DSW.

I think the current version of Convdata does not work from within loader sims. However, I'm sure I read a while back that conversion from .wtt to .txt (and v.v.) can be achieved using an .exe sim even if it isn't the sim the timetable is intended for. I haven't tried it yet and may even have imagined this (I have 'previous' in this respect ) so apologies if this is the case.

The current version of convdata doesn't work with the new XML format for WTTs.

With difficulty!

There is an additional "DEV" tab on the timetable editor that says "clean timetable" unfortunately you need a Tester or above license to access that (or so I believe). I think there is a request in somewhere for that to be made available generally.

Thats resolved it (I've got the licence.) but agreed saves the effort of using convdata

The XML? What do you need to clean?

It could surely be done with XSLT.

I tried import and export on the XML but it drops Seed locations for trains. I used to use convdata but it doesnt like the loader (yet).

I presume this is what's being attempted.

It is of course possible to open the WTT up and do a find/replace for all the extraneous data, but this is so much quicker and easier; particularly if like me you have not got a clue what XML or XSLT means.

Basically, XSLT is a sophisticated find and replace language for XML. A little awkward, but just deleting some elements is easy enough.

Just for clarification, do loader .wtt files need 'cleansing' in the same way that old timetables do then?

Or are DLY flags not saved with the file (unless they're manually set?)

Loader and Convdata are not compatible owing to fundamental changes to the internal structure of the files. I believe Clive is working on a fix, within usual timescales.

This doesn't really answer my question. My question is do loader timetables gather unwanted DLY flags in the same way that old ones did.

Yes, they do. However, there is an option within the simisg TT menu to clean the TT

Currently only available to testers and developers, so not much help to us mere (license purchasing) mortals.
