Hello all, I'm about 3/4 way through writing/testing a WTT/WTR for the Carlisle Simulation. I have all the trains at Oxenholme on the Branch aswell as the Newcastle/Leeds/Barrow-in-Furness/Wigton. Big question a lot of the freight from all over needs to go into Carlisle Yard as for the "Set Down" Driver ect, will these trains come back out? For example i have 4S43 Daventry DRS - Mossend Euroterminal Tesco Modal with a 92 at 450m... It stops at Carlisle before going into Carlisle Yard. I've attached 2 files with same priciable.. 6M62 and 4S43 there are many more like this so just need to know what to do if has to go like this 6M621 6M622. Hope someone can help me on this Thanks. you have a choice here. they can be timetabled through the yard, in which case they will enter it, and remain in the sim, making a stop as per any other timing point, or you can timetable them just into carlisle yard, in which case they will disapear, and you can then make a -1 service which appears later. its worth bearing in mind if the train has a long layover, it would block the yard "through" line for a rather long time, and it may also choose to set off VERY early. as a rule (for me) trains with a long layover should be split into two workings, while trains with a quick stop can work straight through. Even though there timetabled into carlisle yard half of the freight is at least 400m long. So working what you said i should make a -1 Service which will then reappear on its actual departure time.

yes, you would timetable 6M62 into carlisle yard (as its final location) and then create a second train 6M62-1 or 6M621 or 6M62A or something similar. you then need to add a rule "6M62-1 (if you use that headcode) must not appear until X mins after 6M62 has left the area" in case 6M62 runs late. From a timetabling point of view if a train spends more than a few minutes in the yard then it should be split with a rule added as has previously been said. In theory if it where timetabled as one service with a long layover it would come back out but would block any other trains wanting to lay over there so is not recommended. Log in to reply |
