In the sim, if an 8 car train (say 8/455 164m) is detained at F160, the rear of the train will foul Whitton Jcn. Having observed train movements live on CCF this morning, this does not appear to be the case. Here we can see 2R17 (which was allocated in Genius as an 8/455, as all 2Rxx / 2Vxx were today) standing at F160 waiting for 2L24 to pass. Meanwhile, 2L23 is approaching from Twickenham. However, 2L23 has managed to pass Whitton Jcn with 2R17 still at F160. I wonder if somebody could check the length of the spur? Log in to reply |

Having set the route for 2R49, the rear of the train has now cleared Whitton Jcn without 2R49 having passed F160. It would seem that the stopping position is too far away from F160 for 8 car trains to be accommodated on the spur. Log in to reply |

F160 is 360m or so from Whitton Jn, and has been in that location since at least 1999, so either Simsig is stopping trains 200m in rear of the signal (I'd be surprised if it's even viewable from 200m, given the curve!) or it's incorrectly placed.

Ah, now looking at the above issue, I seem to have made a small fo-par! :doh The length of TC: (F)JY was short by 100m, this is now fixed, awaiting update. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: John |
