Train stuck in the station throat area 21/02/2015 at 21:27 #69440

During a SimSig session, I got a TCF in the station throat. I thought I could run it around with 1W47 by setting the points from DM to the left via the first crossover, then via the second crossover right to platform 5. However, when I allowed 1W47 past red, it eventually got stuck in state "Moving 0mph". Does anybody know what was the problem? (see the attached save)

This may or may not be related, but the "0mph" thing is a problem in the Bristol sim that makes it rather annoying to play; trains going slowly through goods loading lines actually don't move at all. I wonder if there's some issue with speeds being rounded or something, when it should be a fraction of a mile per hour and is being rounded down to zero? Or maybe this is a completely different bug.

The layout does not permit this move through "Double Slips". I know it looks possible but looks can be deceiving!

Surely the message should then be wrt running out of valid track rather than moving at 0mph? This sounds like a (minor) bug to me.

What is the problem with that move?

The two double slips are one complex.

If you want to continue, reverse 1W47 and wait for problem to be fixed!

What double slips, Brighton doesn't have any.

Those aren't double slips. A double slip is the junction illustrated in the middle of the top row of this image. The items at Brighton are scissors crossovers.

The move should be physically possible, there's nothing to prevent it. They're completely separate items, as shown by Google Maps. The left-hand set of crossovers is just above the marker, the right-hand set is just below.

Provided that you are not track locked it's a valid route for flagging trains into Brighton.
