" said:http://s8.postimg.org/qjdyhjtet/host_help.jpgHave you looked at the portforward.com web-site. This gives instructions on how to set up most routers to port forward. The page for Huawei routers is here. Pick your model then click on the link to Default Guide for instructions on how to set things up so you can host an online session. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 01/03/2015 at 13:55 by postal Log in to reply |

Stanyon, I think you have to look in another section of the settings - particularly "Virtual Servers" just above. Port Triggering (if that is what this screens configures) is something else. The numbers generally are OK, just try putting them to the "Virtual Servers" screen.

Start a sim in hosting mode on port 50505. Go to http://ping.eu/port-chk/ and enter the IP address it shows and port 50505. Does it report the port open or closed? Also what ISP are you on? Log in to reply |

Stanyon download teamviewer which is free (in the sense of beer) software for personal use that allows remote control of a computer, get it running and post the details for it here and wait for someoene to connect to you, I will do this if it is convenient but would also encourage anyone else to.

I am not prepared to run ammyyy admin because downloading it is setting off warnings in chrome. I suspect this is just because it is used in phishing rather than inherently being harmful, but as I am running on bare metal I will not take the chance.

Teamviewer worked fine but unfortunately there is no chance of success. Two words: Carrier NAT.

That should get you an open port on pretty much any Huawei router." “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

" said:Teamviewer worked fine but unfortunately there is no chance of success. Two words: Carrier NAT.I suspected as much. I think trying to do this via a 3G/4G device is always going to be problematic. On a related note, when BT rolled out infinity in my area, I moved from the very trusty BE internet (with static IP) to BT. BT don't even offer a static IP option (which I would have happily paid for). But even worse, they implement carrier grade NAT which makes it impossible to do a port redirection and therefore host a SimSig session. You can, thankfully, opt out of CGNAT - but you have to know how. Start here for info: http://btsupport.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44044/c/6433 . Note this only applies to BT.
