Hi I have been playing SimSig for a few months now and still really enjoying it. I have Portsmouth and Feltham sims, though I haven't played Feltham yet as it looks a vary complicated one to tackle. Has anybody any suggestions on a good "next step up" from Portsmouth for purchase please? Thank you. Log in to reply |

Why not have a look at some of the free ones first. Exeter is a pretty good next step.

Brighton is another that although can be quite busy at times, the patterns of trains are the same during the day so once you know which headcodes go where (there's only a few branches that go off the mainline) it's not as bad as it may seem at first glance Gareth Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Myrm |

I'd take a look through this page and see what takes your fancy. You could go for another Beginner simulation, or pick one from the Intermediate list. Note that there's a big range in the Intermediate section- take a look though a few of the descriptions to find one that's right. Alternatively, now you're happy with the basics, you could pick an ARS simulation. I'd say Gloucester or Westbury would be a good place to move on to, and will get you used to larger control areas. Exeter will as well, but that depends on how much you like level crossings! Most of the Intermediate simulations have the advantage of being donationware. If you're going for an ARS simulation, maybe have a quick go at Drain or Liverpool Street first to get used to ARS, and then if you like it pick one of the payware simulations which feature it. Salisbury would be my choice as you'd also get used to the sims with block sections on them & also the use of Ground Frames.
