Hi All An update as to what happened on last nights King Cross. I've checked the log from last nights game and found the issue. I've established that there was no fault with the sim itself in any way. Between 09:22 & 09:38 there were a total of 25 trains authorized to pass signals at danger. These were mainly in the Digswell Jn & Wooler Green Jn area, there were also some around Finsbury Park This was a result of a user waiting for a panel to become free, whilst waiting said user authorized these trains to pass signals at danger whilst another service was in the block in front, by using; Multiplayer > Control Panel > Make Train Pass Signal At Danger. Log File Below 09:22:20 Client WSM : 5E34-15E34-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:22:39 Client WSM : 2V11-12V11-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:23:02 Client WSM : 1T04-11T04-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:24:01 Client WSM : 2V12-12V12-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:26:07 Client WSM : 1S09-11S09-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:26:18 Client WSM : 0Z90-10Z90-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:26:24 Client WSM : 2C59-12C59-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:26:40 Client WSM : 2J28-12J28-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:26:46 Client WSM : 2K18-12K18-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:27:16 Client WSM : 1T04-11T04-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:29:49 Client WSM : 5E39-15E39-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:30:02 Client WSM : 1S10-11S10-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:30:39 Client WSM : 1Y11-11Y11-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:30:53 Client WSM : 1C34-11C34-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:32:00 Client WSM : 5E37-15E37-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:34:11 Client WSM : 1E01-11E01-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:35:53 Client WSM : 2J19-12J19-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:35:59 Client WSM : 1P54-11P54-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:36:13 Client WSM : 2J25-12J25-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:36:30 Client WSM : 1N81-11N81-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:37:56 Client WSM : 1T55-11T55-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:38:05 Client WSM : 1D07-11D07-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:38:17 Client WSM : 2K20-12K20-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:38:53 Client WSM : 1N81-11N81-1 authorised to pass signal at danger 09:38:53 Client WSM : 5E39-15E39-1 authorised to pass signal at danger This resulted in the session ending early as there was chaos and jams to Hitchin & Potters Bar with average delays of around 35 Mins. Is is maybe possible for said link to be removed? Users working a panel can manage the trains via F2 that are on their patch specifically. The host can access all trains via F2.

The host can access all trains via F2.The ability to do it via F2 is considerably newer than the old multiplayer control panel. I will raise your suggestion through the issue tracker though as I agree it is now superfluous. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: scottlowes |

I'm glad you found the log file. I must say it was rather frustrating last night. Possibly limiting the control panel to the Host might be a better way to go. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: scottlowes |

The delays could have been reduced if people weren't changing the head-codes of trains on other person's panels. I am aware that the game sometimes does this automatically at stations but apart from that, the only person in charge of changing head-codes, is the person in charge of the panel where the head code change is required. Adding the correct head-codes to trains in SimSig is very important and F2 will always give the correct train location and number. One more thing worth mentioning...Please try to figure out why a train is refusing to pass a signal before you instruct it to SPAD or abandon timetable. One of the most common reasons for a train to claim it is at a red (even though it isn't), is an incorrect head-code. But anyway. I might be posting a topic about head-codes and stuff later. Thanks for the host though! It was very enjoyable. Log in to reply |

Wasn't at the game, but the other thing to remember the host can kick a badly behaving member, if this happens again I would suggest that. If you change the logging mode to "both" then you can pick these things up in game more easily. I also think that anyone who does such a thing knowingly should be watched with caution. Certainly WSM should have to account for the below and undertake not to repeat it before anyone lets them in their games, I struggle to think of an innocent explanation that isn't rather far fetched, but if we allow far fetched explanations, perhaps they are not really understanding the different social norms that multiplayer simluations have compared to multiplayer games (there are many of the latter where this sort of sabotaging of ones own "team" to get to play oneself would, if not quite be accepted, at least not be the time-ruining act it was here). I think that the delays could have been reduced if the headcodes of certain trains were correct. For example, someone removed 0Z90's headcode which caused major confusion and lead to the headcodes of other trains being changed. Wrong routes were set and all sorts simply because some people could not be bothered to check F2 On the whole however, last night's session was very eventful and exiting. Hope to see more hosts from you soon Log in to reply The following user said thank you: scottlowes |

Two trains in one section with the second train overwriting the first. We both suffered from outside interference with our panels now we know who it was. Log in to reply |
