Kings Cross 1964 'lite' now released in downloads. This is a 'modern working' passenger only timetable so OK for one user. While I have the information for adding freight, decided that can wait a while. Now sorting out Motherwell 1984 which could be out in a couple of months. Bill Log in to reply |

Right. An update on the SwinDid (Bathampton Junction) TT - and it isn't one I wanted to give. Having had a failure with an ECS at Thingley Junction last night on a test run (the train wouldn't reverse on the Up Line as it should have done) I have done a couple of adjustments this morning. However I got to 0640 sim time and found that 1G02 trying to start from Swindon towards Gloucester conflicts, due to the single line between Swindon (Loco Yard Jcn) and Kemble, with 1L10 from Worcester: things become impossible without one delaying the other and I have to realise that it is possible all trains may have been retimed by FGW to take account of the extra track that has been put in since this sim was released. Therefore I will have to hope for an update to include the extra track between Swindon and Kemble: if that doesn't happen then a release of this 458-train timetable, which I have spent a lot of my spare time in the last 3½ months working on, is unlikely. Slightly crushing tbh. :( There is still some hope for release of the Westbury TT for the Bathampton Junction works which I have been doing in paralell to the Swindon one but the Swindon TT was the one I was most looking forward to releasing. Dave just release it anyway, if the sim is then updated in the future it's a bonus, I wouldn't mind the trains being late.

If you aren't a stickler for 100% realism it might be possible to retime the trains slightly for the layout. Kaiwhara has done that with our SwinDid TT.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have now done a full analysis for Loco Yard Junction and attach it, as a spreadsheet, to this message. I think I will adjust 1G02 so that it becomes Swindon dep. 0631 Loco Yard Jcn: pass 0633 Kemble: arr. 0643, dep. 0645 which should fix that. I am guessing that a number of the other timing issues could be sorted with a small pathing allowance (p/a) so my current line of thinking would suggest the following: 2G82: Retime by about 1 minute (dep. Swindon 0939, pass LYJ 0941) with a ½ miunte p/a in at LYJ. 2G83: Retime by about 1 minute (dep. Swindon 1139, pass LYJ 1141) with a ½ miunte p/a in at LYJ. 2G85: ½ minute at Loco Yard Junction to allow 1L58 (an HST set) to clear the junction. 2G87: Retime by about 1 minute (dep. Swindon 1539, pass LYJ 1541) with a ½ miunte p/a in at LYJ. 1G60: Add ½ minute p/a to allow retimed 2O00 to clear junction. 2O00: Retime 2O00 to depart Kemble 1830 and run 3 earlier to Swindon. 2B97: Retime by about 1 minute to pass LYJ at 2057 and arrive Swindon 2102. ** 1G88: p/a ½ minue at Loco Yard Jcn 2B99: p/a ½ minute at Kemble to allow 5B98 to get off the single track. ** I think a train is in 2B97's platform hence the 5 minute time between passing Loco Yard junction and arriving at Swindon. Anyway that is what I think I might end up doing. Screenshot attached. Any thoughts on the above plan will be welcome. Dave Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Dave, (and also Tempe Meads and Kaiwhara) Frankly I wouldn't touch anything. Perhaps include suggested regulation notes as part of any manual accompanying the sim. The sim may well be upgraded one day and you'll only then have to put it all back. 1G02 should depart SWI on time and wait at Loco Yard for 1L10 (it's one of the control "going home" trains and they'd be most annoyed if it left Swindon just 2 minutes after they finished work!), it may then end up running late from Kemble but should recover plenty of time en-route to Cheltenham. Everything else can just be held at loco yard a moment or two with minimal impact to running, a little common sense being all that's required to maintain the train service. Log in to reply |

" said:Dave, (and also Tempe Meads and Kaiwhara)Hi Guys IIRC, I think only three pairs of trains actually conflicted, and what I have done is decided which train (based on the time of day) would be the "sacrificial lamb" and retimed that to suit, and was going to amend Gloucester to that effect. In all cases, Timings from Swindon towards Didcot were as per the timetable. It would be extremely easy to put them all back, as per timetable, and let the user decide how to regulate them. As I say, it's only three conflicts across the whole day, and it was a problem I knew I would come across at some point. I'm actually surprised there were not more trains affected than there were! Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

Any update on any updates for Mac Sims? Both Central Scotland and Edinburgh have changed a fair bit over the last few years. New lines opened and ongoing electrification. Log in to reply |

As for my SwinDid (Bathampton Junction) TT I think I will do two versions. Version 1 will contain the Kemble line TT as it ran IRL with the correct timings. Version 2, however, will contain the revised timetables where needed for the Kemble route. I will release Version 2 for starters due to the track layout being as it currently stands, However if the track layout between Loco Yard Junction and Kemble is updated at some point in the future to include the additional track then I will release Version 1 in place of Version 2. Quick update. I have delayed completion of my Bathampton Junction SwinDid TT due to an ongoing issue with it so I am instead working on fixing a few errors with its Westbury counterpart which I will now plan to release first. Dave Log in to reply |

[b]Lazzer wrote:[b] Quote: Hi Pascal. To answer your question today I rcv'd in the post a missing WTT for thie Carlisle timetable which was the October, 1979-May, 1980 BR ScR Freight WTT Conditional. John has amended the timetable to reflect whats in that timetable. With regards to the Carlisle sim you'd best ask Tom how that's going cos for us he has gone quiet too, must be busy working no doubt. Me on the other hand I've been writing the Motherwell 1979-1980 timetable that will chain to Carlisle in due course & have been working on it pretty much every day now for a fortnight with the help of a Motherwell signaler who has been advising me on the movement of certain trains & associated shunt so the whole thing will be pretty much 100% accurate. The passenger train formations are now included in the passenger train descriptions as well as the freight services (I've attached a copy of the Motherwell 1979-1980 tt to this post if you want to download it & take a look, but remember its no where near finished yet. A long way to go). The best person to ask with regards to the Carlisle 1979-1980 timetable would be John(postal) as he is currently working on sorting out all the relevant shunt moves for the 3 station pilots over the 24 hour timetable period. Of course, but still excellent to hear that the relentless drive for realism and accuracy in the 79/80 Carlisle TT is ongoing! No other timetable puts you in the moment quite like it. Close your eyes and think of a London sleeper waiting in the station while the 08 nips back and forth, postal trains loading and containers squealing round Rome Street Jn. (But don't keep them closed for too long cos someone's bound to phone you from a red!) Log in to reply |

It's been a while since I've done a write-up. Projects in development: Aston 2015 Freight needs re-writing, other than that it's ready to go. Stafford 2015 In the testing stage, currently up to 07:50. When released, this timetable will complete my West Midlands 2015 set. Cambridge 2015 GN, XC and LE services written, EM and freight still to do. North East Scotland Loco-Hauled (Fictional) Passenger and mail services are entered, along with most freight. Trip freights still to do. Development suspended until NE Scot is updated to use the Loader. This is partly due to simulation bugs in the .exe, but also because I'd like to make use of the new 'Decisions' feature to add some replay value. Possible Future Projects I have the data for a 2015 timetable for Walsall, and I plan to write it when the Walsall simulation is released. This will be compatible with my existing West Midlands set. Nothing else at the moment. "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." (Avenue Q) Log in to reply |

Looking forward to your 2012 Wimbledon TT TimTamToe, still waiting for this to be released My Carlisle Saturday 19th September TT is under testing. I also have made a start of my Wimbledon Sunday 4th October 2015 TT, which is 24hr so includes the Saturday night stuff with Twickenham extra's, and on the Sunday itself there is engineering work in the Barnes area so all Reading's are diverted via Kingston. I don't have Feltham sim just yet but I have saved the RealTimeTrains data for the Sunday so it can chain with Wimbledon. Log in to reply |
